PRACTICE HISTORY:

Born and raised in Opelousas, Dr. Bordelon returned to his hometown upon completion of his Pulmonary Fellowship at Charity Hospital New Orleans.  He opened his private office in Opelousas in 1981 to practice both Internal and Pulmonary Medicine, obtaining Board Certification in both.  As director of the Respiratory Therapy Department at OpelousasGeneral Hospital, he established the first Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at that hospital.

In 2002, Dr. Bordelon obtained Board Certification in Sleep Disorder Medicine and, as a Medical Director, established the first accredited Sleep Disorder Clinic in Opelousas at Opelousas General Health System.  He also established Premier Sleep Medicine Center in Baton Rouge, LA, where he currently acts as CEO and Medical Directotr.

Over the years Dr. Bordelon has been elected/appointed to many state and regional positions, and has helped to establish and define policies in the fields of Internal, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.  More recently he was honored by the American College  of Physicians as a Laureate.

Dr. Bordelon now limits his practice to Sleep Disorder Medicine.

He also enjoys gardening and traveling with his wife, Cathy, as they keep up with their children and grandchildren.
