BIOGRAPHY:
A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT DR. OLIVIER...
I was born and raised in Opelousas/Opelousas area and graduated from Opelousas Catholic School in 1996. I furthered my undergraduate education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology with minors in chemistry and Spanish. Upon graduation, I accepted a research biologist position at the National Wetland Research Center. After one year I transferred to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality as an Environmental Scientist. After six months of employment at the LaDEQ, my one month old daughter and I were relocated to the Island of Trinidad in the West Indies. We lived there for three years.
During those three years I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a physician and I applied to medical school. When my daughter was three years old she and I moved to Saba, Netherland Antilles, and started this journey that has changed our lives. After medical school I attained a position as an Internal Medicine resident at LSU UMC- Lafayette where during my third year I was Chief Resident. Seven years later, I am proud to be back home and with all of you.
Some things about me (in no particular order of importance)... My daughter is the reason I work hard and serves as my inspiration. I speak Spanish fluently and currently am looking into learning French. I have a passion for languages and traveling to foreign countries. I love to dance. My favorite food is peanut butter. My favorite color depends on my mood. I jog 2-4 miles 3-5 times a week to eat chocolate and spend time with my fiance. My fiance painted the portrait of Boo Zoo Chavis that is hanging on the wall of my office. We are getting married March 15th 2014. I don't admit that I believe in ghosts but I will never stay at a house people report to be haunted. A few of my favorite movies are Cool Hand Luke, The Parent Trap (1961 version) and Breakfast at Tiffany's. I love to read and hate to sleep because I think I miss important things.... There is much more of course, but I will stop here.
